Chlorine Dioxide Medication

Since chlorine dioxide cannot be patented, it cannot be used as a cash cow for pharmaceutical companies, so, the idea that chlorine dioxide medication might be available is highly unlikely, though it could be used as part of a chemical formula. Creating hybrid formulae with chlorine dioxide has already been successful in other industries, such as in cleaning supplies, sanitizers, disinfectants, etc.

Chlorine Dioxide and COVID-19

In terms of using chlorine dioxide to defeat viruses, it surfaced as a potential weapon to ward off the threat of the Coronavirus outbreak of late 2019, which we still have not recovered from completely as it flourished into the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an April 1, 2020, clinical trial, 10 ml of 3000 ppm chlorine dioxide were added to 1 liter of water, per day. One part was taken every hour, until the content of the bottle is finished (8 to 12 shots) for one week to determination the effectiveness of oral chlorine dioxide for treating COVID 19.

Go to Jail

A family in Florida, the Grenons, began spreading the rumor that using chlorine dioxide might be an effective way to battle the Coronavirus, on July 8, 2020, the Grenon family was arrested for refusing to stop spreading the rumor, and disregard the FDA claims that chlorine dioxide was dangerous and strictly not for human consumption.

As the Grenons were safely locked away to prevent the spread of any rumors about chlorine dioxide, which they referred to as MMS, the drum of chlorine dioxide’s efficacy kept beating.

Chlorine Dioxide Before the Pandemic

In as early as January 2008, well before the pandemic, it had been determined that chlorine dioxide was an effective defendant against influenza. They cite mice testing (Webby & Webster, 2003; Webster et al., 2007) to see if it could knock out a viral influenza A virus, particularly of the H5N1 subtype. Noting the alarming prospect of a new pandemic.

Looming novel strains of influenza potentially devastating pandemics in the future (Palese, 2004) and referencing the huge number of fatalities of the 1918 pandemic (Kong et al., 2006). To date, vaccination has limited efficacy (Ge et al., 2004), so chlorine dioxide seems to be the answer.

According to the study conducted by Norio Ogata and Takashi Shibata, “ClO2 gas is effective at preventing aerosol-induced influenza virus infection in mice by denaturing viral envelope proteins at a concentration well below the permissible exposure level to humans. ClO2 gas could therefore be useful as a preventive means against influenza in places of human activity without necessitating evacuation.” (Journal of General Virology, Volume 89, Issue 1 Protective effect of low-concentration chlorine dioxide gas against influenza A virus infection).
